Prague Central Station (Praha hlavní nádraží in Czech) is the main and largest railway station in a city of Prague in the Czech Republic. It is situated close to Wenceslas square in the city center. Thanks to its location, Prague Central station is the busiest railway station in the entire Czech Republic: according to 2014 statistics, the station served 224,505 trains (610 daily) and more than 53,000,000 passengers.
In its lifetime, Praha hlavní nádraží changed its name several times. Opened in 1871, it was named Franz Josef Station, after Franz Joseph I of Austria. Later on, the station changed its name to Wilson Station (Wilsonovo nádraží in Czech) in 1945, after former |

For the convenience of travelers, It has its own metro station called Hlavní nádraží as well. Though It used to be quite a dreary and unwelcoming place, the big reconstruction in 2006 gave a new lease of life to the area. The station has improved greatly turning into a modern travel hub with a number of different facilities.
